CANopen Protocol Support by EMS
Introduction
EMS supports the CANopen protocol
with work in the standardization groups, consulting services and
development support. Furthermore a range of products - including
hardware as well as software - is available for the CANopen protocol.
Standardization
We have been engaged in CiA Work
Groups and CiA Special Interest Groups for approximately four years.
These groups include
- former WG Higher Layer Protocols
CAL has been standardized here (the actual specification for CAL LMT is
based on a proposal by EMS)
- SIG CANopen
CANopen communication profile has been developed in this SIG based on
the results of ASPIC project
- SIG Distributed I/O
The CANopen device profiled for analog and digital I/O components has
been developed in this SIG

Hardware Components for CANopen
The wide range of CAN interfaces for
PCs supplied by EMS is compatible with CANopen systems. The interfaces
provide access to CANopen systems for configuration tools, HMI and SCADA
systems as well as diagnosis and troubleshooting software.
Development Services for CANopen Devices and Systems
Considerable experience as well as
the existing software base put us into the position to provide support
for design and implementation of CANopen devices.
